| Bill Hall gives the Sox their first lead of the game with a 2-run blast in the bottom of the 7th to turn a 2-1 defecit into a 3-2 lead, but as typical Red Sox fashion so far they cough the lead up, enabling the Rangers to tie the game in the 8th. David Ortiz gets a chance to play hero in the bottom of the 8th in a pinch-hit appearance with two on and two out, but can only get a pop up. In the bottom of the 10th, Dustin Pedroia doubles and Kevin Youkilis singles for runners on first and third, no out. Josh Reddick (who pinch-ran in the 8th for Victor Martinez) coughs up his chance to play hero with a popup, but Mike Lowell comes through with a dramatic 3-run shot over the Monster for the beautiful walk-off homer. Ramon Ramirez gets the win by being in the right spot at the right time, and with this being his 2nd win of the season gives him the team lead in wins!! |

Mike Lowell hit one over the fence and had 3 RBI as the Boston Red Sox
outscored the Texas Rangers in 10 innings 6 to 3.
Both teams had scored 3 runs after nine full innings. Boston won the game in
the 10th inning. Dustin Pedroia led off the inning for Boston when he
doubled. Kevin Youkilis stepped into the batter's box and he lined a single.
After an out was recorded, Lowell came to the plate and launched a three-run
homer making Boston victorious to the delight of the the home town crowd.
Texas was out-hit by Boston, 12 hits to 8.
The win went to Ramon Ramirez(2-1) who allowed no runs in 2 innings. Chris
Ray(0-1) was charged with the loss in relief. He gave up 3 hits and no walks
in 1 and 1/3 innings.
