| Just no stopping the steamrolling Atlanta Braves lately as they paste the struggling Phillie pitching staff for 9 runs, winning their 5th straight and up their record to a major-league best 12-2. The only real damage the Phils could make came in the 8th inning while down 8-1, scoring three runs on a Placido Polanco 2-run single and an RBI single for Raul Ibanez. Ibanez does have a nice 3 for 4 day in the losing cause. Roy Halladay struggles again, dropping to 1-3 on the season. |

Third baseman Chipper Jones hit a homerun and had 3 RBI as the Atlanta Braves
outscored the Philadelphia Phillies 9 to 4.
Jones had a good evening at the plate. He smacked a three-run homer in the
1st inning, smacked a single in the 4th inning and doubled in the 8th inning.
Atlanta finished with 15 hits while Philadelphia ended up with 7.
Tim Hudson(1-1) went 6 and 1/3 innings allowing 1 run for the victory. The
loss was charged to Roy Halladay(1-3). He allowed 4 runs and 11 hits in 4
innings.
