April 14, 2010 Twins 5, Red Sox 4 (11)

The first extra-inning game of the year is decided on Denard Span's 4th hit of the day, a walk-off homerun off of Ramon Ramirez in the bottom of the 11th inning as the Sox lose a heartbreaker. They led 4-2 after Mike Cameron rips a 3-run shot in the 6th, but the Twins peck back with a run in the bottom of the 6th and a run on a sac fly off of Papelbon in the 9th to tie it which sends John Lackey's first Sox win into the toilet. Span's heroics polish the struggling Sox off and drop them to 2-6 for the year, tied for the 3rd worst start in team history.
