Nothing much to be happy about today, as Matt Garza dominates and shuts down the Sox. Garza retired the first 14 men to face him until Adrian Beltre gets a single with two out in the 5th. Two more hits and two walks is all the Sox could muster on offense. What is offensive is the performance of Jon Lester, as he falls to 0-3 with a sloppy six walk performance. He did strike out six and only allowed 2 runs, but you can't get a win when your teammates don't score any runs behind you.

Matt Garza pitched a 3 hit shutout as the Tampa Bay Rays bested the Boston Red
Sox 4 to 0 at Fenway Park.
 
Garza(3-0) escaped virtually unscathed against the Boston hitters.  He didn't
allow much, just 3 hits and 2 walks in 9 innings dropping his ERA from 3.86
to 2.35.  Tampa Bay had a total of 7 hits for the game.  
 
The losing pitcher was Jon Lester(0-3).  'All of my pitches were working
today,' Garza said.  'I felt really good out there, and heck, I think I could
have gone longer.'
