| Atlanta has been sizzling lately wining seven straight, and notched their eights straight win today, having an easy time of it. The Phils didn't come alive until the 9th when they score four runs and load the bases, but after former teammate Billy Wagner walks two to let two runs cross home plate, Takashi Saito took the mound and strikes out Shane Victorino to end it. Wagner has five saves in the seven game win streak, but couldn't convert today. |

At Turner Field the smoking-hot Atlanta Braves outscored the Philadelphia
Phillies 7 to 4.
Atlanta took the lead for keeps in the bottom of the 3rd inning scoring a
single run. Philadelphia threatened in the 9th but Atlanta was able to put
down the rally.
Tommy Hanson(8-1) went 6 and 2/3 innings allowing no runs for the win. Takashi
Saito got the save, his 2nd. Joe Blanton(2-1) was given the loss. Charlie
Manuel was reflective after the loss, 'We should have won this one, we just
made one too many mistakes. Son-of-a-gun, that added a couple more white
hairs on this noggin of mine.'
