| I knew this one would be a tight one before the game even started with Cole Hamels (6-2, 2.08) and Tim Hudson (7-2, 2.86) opposing each other, and the fans were treated to the expected pitchers duel. The only way to get runs was a bit of daring baseball, and the Phils did just that in the top of the 6th. Shane Victorino led off with a triple, and next batter Wilson Valdez (with his A bunting) lays down a perfect squeeze bunt with Victorino crossing the plate. The Phillies get two more runs in the top of the 9th off of Jonny Venters to ice the game and stop the Braves winning streak at eight. Hamels goes the distance for the shutout. |
