May 19, 2010 Twins 5, Red Sox 3

Bill Hall shows why he hasn't played shortstop since 2006 when on the first play of the game he throws the ball over first base for a two base error, and the runner eventually scores. Hall looked to be the goat of the game until I let a runner get thrown out on the bases to get the tying run home. In the bottom of the 6th with two out and with slowpoke David Ortiz at first, Adrian Beltre smokes a sizzling double. Ortiz has a chance to score, which I go for, and also try to get the extra base for Beltre to try to get the Twins to throw to third and not home for the lumberring Ortiz. The Twins bite and throw for the runner Beltre, nailing him at thrid for the third out of the inning but Papi does cross the plate to tie the game.

That is all forgotten when the fine start for Clay Buchholz is wasted when Jonathan Papelbon sucks the joint out in the top of the 9th when he takes over in a tie game and allows the Twins two hits, a walk, and a big grand-slam homerun for Brendan Harris for a four run outburst. The Sox do get two back in the bottom of the 9th, but not enough.
