| Three St. Louis errors, 11 walks and all six hits for extra bases enable the Phils to have no problem dispatching the Cardinals. Two struggling players, Roy Halladay and Ryan Howard get back on track a bit with Halladay finally showing the Cy Young form with 8 scoreless innings and Howard with a 2-run homer. Halladay also collected his first career extra-base hit, a double, good for the first RBI of the game and only his second career run batted in. Halladay in his 12 year Blue Jay career went 3 for 38 at the plate in the inter league action. |

The Philadelphia Phillies enjoyed a blow-out, pounding the St. Louis Cardinals
pitchers for 8 while Roy Halladay(2-4), with relief help from Danys Baez,
shutout St. Louis.
Halladay was indeed brilliant as he hand-cuffed the St. Louis offense. He
didn't give up much, just 3 hits and 3 walks in 8 innings. Halladay chalked
up 9 strikeouts. Philadelphia ended up with 6 hits for the game while St.
Louis had 3.
Kyle Lohse(1-4) was given the loss. He had trouble throwing strikes and
issued 5 walks in 2 innings.
