May 16, 2010 Phillies 2, Brewers 0

Cole Hamels comes through on the mound and at the plate, ripping a 2-run double to account for both runs and tossing 7 2/3 shutout innings while whiffing 12 and improves to 6-1 on the year. Placido Polanco gets three hits for the Phils, and Corey "I Wear My Sunglasses At Night" Hart gets two of the four hits for the Brewers. Good thing the Phillies only actually needed one run to win the game, they left 15 runners on base!

Cole Hamels racked up an impressive total of 12 strikeouts as the Philadelphia
Phillies topped the Milwaukee Brewers by a score of 2 to 0 at Miller
Park.

Hamels(6-1) put on a good performance. He allowed only 4 hits and 3 walks in
7 and 2/3 innings improving his ERA from 1.81 to 1.57. Hamels got help from
Jose Contreras who pitched a perfect ninth and was credited with his 3rd
save.

David Bush(3-3) took the loss. 'I had my good stuff tonight.' Hamels said.
'As the game went along I started to get the feeling that I was going to
strike out a bunch of hitters.'
