May 5, 2010 Phillies 6, Cardinals 5 (11)

A 5-1 Phillie lead entering the 9th inning looked pretty comfortable, but the Cardinals come up with four runs off of Nelson Figueroa and Brad Lidge to tie the game. That is all forgotten by the end when in the bottom of the 11th as the Cards pitchers can't seem to find the strike zone as Trever Miller walks Placido Polanco, Chase Utley and Ryan Howard in succession. In comes Mitchell Boggs (no relation to Wade) to face Jayson Werth, and the first pitch Boggs throws goes past catcher Yadier Molina all the way to the backstop as Polanco trots home on the walk-off wild pitch!

Shane Victorino collected 2 extra-base hits as the Philadelphia Phillies
bested the St. Louis Cardinals in 11 innings 6 to 5 at Citizen's Bank
Park.

Both teams had scored 5 runs after nine full innings. Philadelphia won the
hard fought contest in the 11th inning. Placido Polanco drew a walk. Chase
Utley was next and he drew a walk. Ryan Howard then drew a walk to load the
bases. Mitchell Boggs then bounced one in the dirt for a wild pitch
resulting in an exciting win for Philadelphia and a wild post-game
celebration by the home town fans. Both teams finished the game with 13
hits.

The victory went to Chad Durbin(1-1) who went 2 innings, allowing no runs.
Trever Miller(0-1) was tagged with the loss in relief. By giving up 1 run
without retiring a batter his ERA increased from 0.84 to 1.69.

'Thankfully we got ourselves a win', Durbin said. 'It's great to be back on
the winning side of things.'
