June 5, 2010 Padres 8, Phillies 4

Two big blows doom the Phillies: a bases loaded, 3-run triple in the 3rd inning for Chase Headley off of Jamie Moyer, and a grand slam homerun in the 6th for Scott Hairston off of Danys Baez. Padres stopper Heath Bell makes a cameo apprarance for his second place in the majors 18th save when a bit of a Phillie uprising nets them two runs in the bottom of the 9th and two on base with two outs, but Ben Francisco (who pinch-ran for Ryan Howard the previous inning down 8-2 - I never thought he would come up in the next inning with the game on the line!!) grounds out to end the game.

At Citizen's Bank Park the San Diego Padres outdistanced the Philadelphia
Phillies by a final score of 8 to 4.

Scott Hairston enjoyed a fine evening at the plate. He slapped a single in
the 3rd inning and quieted the crowd by clouting a Grand Slam in the 6th
inning. Both teams finished the game with 8 hits.

The winning pitcher was Jon Garland(8-3) who allowed 2 runs in 8 innings.
Garland got relief help from Heath Bell who gained credit for his 18th save.
Jamie Moyer(2-5) was the loser.
