| Like I did with the first Sox/Phils series this season I but the road team to the computer manager, in this case the Phillies. It didn't matter who the manager was today as they slam out 18 hits and 15 runs, with Sox starter John Lackey still sucking as you can see. A bright note for the Red Sox though - Adrian Beltre smokes two over the fence and Victor Martinez gets a solo shot. 17 of the 18 starters in the lineup for both teams combined had at least one hit, the only one shut out was the 0 for 4 Mike Lowell. |

Jayson Werth hit 2 doubles and had 2 RBI as the Philadelphia Phillies beat the
Boston Red Sox by a score of 15 to 8.
Philadelphia took the lead for good in the 4th inning scoring 3 runners on 4
hits. The key offensive moment was provided by Ryan Howard who silenced the
stadium when he slapped a single which was good for two runs. Philadelphia
lit up the scoreboard in the 5th inning which saw them plate 4 runs on 5 hits
and the 6th inning which saw them plate 6 runs on 5 hits. Philadelphia ended
up with 18 hits for the game while Boston had 14.
The win was credited to Jamie Moyer(3-5) who went 5 innings allowing 4 runs.
John Lackey(4-4) was hit with the loss. Philadelphia scored big getting 7
runs off him in 4 and 2/3 innings.
