History was made in Boston as Daisuke Matsuzaka(13-5) tossed a no-hitter and
the Boston Red Sox defeated the Tampa Bay Rays by the score of 2 to
0.
Matsuzaka was obviously at the top of his game as he set the Tampa Bay batters
down like so many dominoes. He walked 6 Tampa Bay batters. What an evening
for the fans. They were on the edge of their seats from the 7th inning on.
With every out, the electricity in the air mounted. Boston finished with
just 6 hits in the victory.
The loss was charged to David Price(18-4). After the game, Matsuzaka was heard
to say, 'This is something I have dreamt about since I was a little boy - to
have it come true is just amazing!'
