Strat-O-Matic Report

The order listed is 1 through 5, with the award winner first. an asterisk (*) next to a number means that was the league leader:

AL MVP - Leigh Teixeria's husband, New York (.260, 44 HR, 144* RBI)
Miguel Cabrera, Detroit (.358, 47, 127)
Paul Konerko, Chicago (.316, 44, 117)
Robinson Cano, New York (.311, 28, 101)
Juan Bautista, Toronto (.237, 55*, 106)

NL MVP - Joey Votto, Cincinnati (.331, 36, 113*)
Brandon Phillips, Cincinati (.292, 23, 85)
Albert Pujols, St. Louis (.311, 40*, 111)
Scott Rolen, Cincinnati (.350*, 23, 111)
Corey Hart, Milwaukee (.303, 38, 97)

AL Cy Young - Pedro Feliz, Texas (1-0, 1.28 ERA, 56* saves)
C. C. Sabitha, New York (*22-5, 3.13)
Mariano Rivera, New York (0-0, 0.73, 49 saves)
C. J. Wilson, Texas (19-7, 2.55)
David Price, Tampa Bay (18-7, 2.69)

NL Cy Young - Billy Wagner, Atlanta (1-3, 2.54, 48 saves)
Tim Hudson, Atlanta(*20-8, 2.84)
Bronson Arroyo, Cincinnati (19-4, 2.76)
Adam Wainwright, St. Louis (17-6, 2.30)
Clayton Kershaw9 Los Angeles (16-6, 2.83)

The two league's ERA leaders did not make it into the top five Cy Young voting for either league: Cliff Lee's combined stats for Seattle and Texas in the AL (17-7, 1.95) and Johan Santana of the Mets in the NL (18-5, 2.08). Also, AL batting leader Josh Hamilton of the Rangers (.362) surprisingly didn't make the MVP list even with his 33 HR and 99 RBI. And the Rangers are a playoff team too. I personally would have put him 4th in place of Robinson Cano. Also, I think that the only thing that kept Cabrera from being the AL MVP instead of Teixeria is the fact that the Tigers were 20 games below .500, while the Yankees won 100 games.

More to follow....

NL Cy Young - Billy Wagner, Atlanta (1-3, 2.54 ERA, 48 saves)
