| Despite all of Roy Halladay's struggles in his new home, apparently playing in front of his former hometown fans gives him life. Halladay gets one of the best starts of his short Phillie career north of the border as the Phils dispatch the Jays with ease despite leaving 13 men on base in the semi-annual 1993 World Series rematch. Speaking of 1993, the final player who played on either team that year has retired, although at the time of this game it wasn't official yet. Carlos Delgado, who was a 20 year old fresh faced rookie during a two game cup of coffee callup toward the end of that 1993 season (as a catcher!) for the Blue Jays, did not play again in the majors after the 2009 season and finally called it a career in April of 2011. He didn't play in the post season in 1993, but nonetheless got a World Series ring and put 17 years of solid work in for the Jays, Marlins and Mets. Those two games were the only two that mainly first baseman Delgado served behind the plate during his entire career. |

Roy Halladay(5-8) and Jesse Litsch(0-2) treated the Toronto fans to a fine
pitching duel at Rogers Centre. The Philadelphia Phillies eventually emerged
as victors over the Toronto Blue Jays by the score of 3 to 1.
Philadelphia brought 2 runs across the plate in the 2nd inning. That scoring
would be all that was needed. Philadelphia rapped out 8 hits for the night.
Brad Lidge was credited with his 4th save.
