April 10, 2010 Royals 10, Red Sox 1

I didn't think it could get worse than the embarrasment of last games' 8-1 loss with 6 unearned runs, but oh how wrong I was. Josh Beckett does worse than his 5 run, 4 1/3 inning performance in the opener by getting shelled for 7 runs in the 2nd inning, with six of those unearned! Sloppy defense does it again.

The embarassment of that 2nd inning:
*** BOTTOM OF INNING 2 ***
0 R.Ankiel 2- 7 6 Walk b-1
0 1 J.Guillen 4- 2 2 1 Base Error - 1B 1-2 b-1
0 12 J.Kendall 1- 7 5 Walk 2-3 1-2 b-1
0 123 Y.Betancour 4- 8 17 4 Single 3-H 2-3 1-2 b-1
0 123 C.Getz 2- 8 8 3 Single 3-H 2-3 1-2 b-1
0 123 D.Dejesus 2-10 3 Ground Out Double Play 3-o 2-3 1-2 b-0
2 23 S.Podsednik 3- 6 6 Walk b-1
2 123 A.Callaspo 1- 5 6 Single 3-H 2-H 1-2 b-1
2 12 B.Butler 5- 5 1 3 Home Run 2-H 1-H b-H
SUBSTITUTE P - Ramon Ramirez
2 R.Ankiel 4- 7 16 5 Fly Out b-0

The Sox fall to 1-4 for the year, with their so far anemic offence only scoring 7 runs total and batting only .206 while allowing almost 7 runs a game. It will get better cause it can't get much worse.

They almost ran out of baseballs at Kauffman Stadium as Kansas City Royals
clobbered the Boston Red Sox pitching staff, scoring 10 runs while Zack
Greinke(2-0), with relief help from Dusty Hughes, held Boston to 1

Josh Beckett(0-2) was tagged with the loss. He pitched 1 and 2/3 innings
giving up 5 hits and 4 walks.
